Oregon Club Tour

Birch Goose

This great tour travels Oregon's quaint towns, scenic back roads, and lush mountain ranges. Some Oregon cyclists consider days 2 & 3 of this year’s Club Tour the best cycling in the State.

Saturday is commute day from Sacramento to Shasta Middle School in Eugene. Sunday we'll pass through the small town of Sweet Home and stay the first night at the Sunnyside Campground, with showers and a lake for swimming. Monday, we'll travel along the river and Green Peter Reservoir. It's very scenic and offers some great views of Mt Hood. The road narrows to nearly a bike trail, with no traffic except our SAGS. We'll be staying at the Detroit Lakes Campground in the town of Detroit. Tuesday has us on back roads again for most of the day to the town of Estacada, and to the Estacada High School.

Wednesday to McMinnville on lightly traveled roads into the Willamette Valley to the Evergreen Aviation Museum Campground. Thursday's layover day allows you to see the amazing museum and Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose, play some golf, or go into town and check out the local action.

For Friday, only 70 mi and 3,350 ft of climbing gets you to Philomath High School. Saturday, the final day, is only 41mi back to Shasta Middle School for the last night before heading home Sunday morning.

$250 covers the week’s SAG, food, nightly entertainment, and campsites. Must be Club member. Registrations limited, contact Ride Leader.
