Description:
Hello Wheelies: The cycling gods will be smiling on us this Saturday as the high temps are forecast to be below 90 for the first time in a long time. So let's climb. The long route is 41 miles with 2700' of climbing. The route takes us through Ophir, up Bald Hill and on to Baked and Brewed, located at 958 Lincoln Way, for coffee. The short route is 31 miles with 1700' of climbing, including Rippey Rd and Powerhouse. This ride stops for coffee at Newcastle Produce, located on Cypress St in downtown Newcastle. Both routes begin and end in front of the bathrooms at Granite Bay Community Park, located on the corner of Douglas Blvd and Barton Rd in Granite Bay. 8:00 socialization, 8:15 sign in, 8:30 pedals down. The need to ride safely has again come to the club's attention. Please ride single file, yield to traffic and PLEASE be aware of your surroundings. In order to avoid unnecessary accidents, please announce yourself loudly when slowing, stopping or turning. Please call out obstacles in the road, e.g., rocks, holes, etc. Thank you and enjoy the ride.
