Short alternatives to the full Jalama Beach ride: 1) Ride out and back to Lompoc for 40-45 miles and miss 2/3 of the elevation or 2) drive to Santa Rosa Park & start there to cut off about 24 miles but ride the 2 big climbs getting to and back from the beach.
As of December 10, 2025 the hotels below each have more than a dozen rooms available, with free wifi, free parking, and free cancellation up until 48 hours before the day of arrival (must cancel before 3 pm).
